You should change your password if you’ve ever tried to get free V-Bucks.

According to Epic Games, there’s no such thing as free V-Bucks and anyone directing you to a site for free digital currency is a scam, according to the Fortnite developer.  “Beware of scam sites offering free or discounted V-Bucks,” says Epic.

They say that sites that ask you to put in your username, answer survey questions, and the like, are scams.  Epic says that these sites aren’t real and they want you to enter your account credentials for what they say could be fraudulent charges on your account.

Other possible outcomes for clicking on free V-Bucks is through advertising revenue as the sites will encourage you to click through advertisements which will enrich the scammer while you’ll receive nothing.

“Under no circumstance are those sites able to actually grant V-Bucks,” says Epic.  If you have tried one of these sites in the past, Epic says that you should change your Fortnite password immediately.

No doubt unscrupulous parties are trying to cash in on Fortnite while it’s hot.  V-Bucks have been raking in cash for Epic Games.  In April the company made almost $300 million on the digital currency as Fortnite hype levels continue to stay high.
