Fans will be able to play this new version of the game in October.

Back in January, Nintendo announced in a Nintendo Direct Mini stream that the 2007 cult classic The World Ends With You would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the form of The World Ends With You: Final Remix. At the time, the game was given the vague release window of 2018, but now fans have an actual date to look forward to.

Nintendo recently announced that The World Ends With You: Final Remix will launch on October 12. This new version of the game will feature the same characters and story that fans of the original have come to love, which involved a boy named Neku having to team up with other players of the Reapers’ Game to avoid getting erased from existence. However, the Final Remix will also include new music remixes, a new narrative scenario, and new art by a team led by Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts artist Tetsuya Nomura. The World Ends With You originally featured touchscreen controls for its action-RPG gameplay, seeing how it was originally a Nintendo DS game. In Final Remix, fans will be able to play with touch controls as well, when playing on the Switch in undocked mode. The game can also be played with buttons when the Switch is docked, however.

You can watch the game’s new trailer below.
