While The Witness has been getting phenomenal reviews since it launched recently, the game’s developer had noted recently that piracy was hurting the chances of there being another game from him on a similar scale. However, he has just revealed some fantastic sales news that paints a bright future for his next game.
Braid and Witness creator, Jonathan Blow, revealed on Twitter that The Witness is on track to sell more in a single week than Braid did in an entire year. This is extremely impressive when considering that Braid was a big hit as soon as it released and won many awards for its incredible gameplay design and visuals.
However, the scale that The Witness is on compared to Braid completely dwarfs the latter, as Jonathan Blow’s latest exists in a 3D world that is packed with mystery at every corner. Despite the fact that it is an indie puzzle game, The Witness has enamored gamers with its puzzles that have people scribbling potential solutions all over the place and has been the game people are talking about the most so far this year.
The Witness is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PC for $40. An iOS version is set to be coming later this year and an Xbox One version is also rumored to be coming at some point.
