The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received a lot of critical acclaim when it released back in 2015. A lot of those same fans have been excited about their upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077, but many are still awaiting a new entry in the franchise. The Witcher TV series quelled some of those desires, but it looks like CD Projekt Red will be looking to quell them further. During a meeting with journalists, CD Projekt President Adam Kiciński announced that a new Witcher title would begin development following the release of Cyberpunk 2077.

Keep in mind that this title will not be named Witcher 4, and will instead be something else entirely. It’s unknown exactly what that is, but it’ll be exciting to see where they decide to take the series. “we have created a relatively clear concept that is waiting for further development.” says Kiciński. “The new project is embedded in the Witcher universe, which is in line with the earlier assurances of CD Projekt.”.

Along with this, Kiciński further ensured that all planned titles will be in either the Witcher or Cyberpunk universes. It is the two they’ve established so far, so they’d like to build further on them rather than branch out. As for plans right now, the game will be handled by the smallest team in the company. Two other teams will be working on different additions to Cyberpunk 2077, along with network support (multiplayer).  It will likely be years before this Witcher project sees the light of day, but we’re excited nonetheless.
