The Witcher soundtrack has been released on digital platforms.
If you’re anything like me, soundtracks are your jam. Whether as music to accompany the book you’re reading, something to spice up work or to make your commute more cinematic, soundtracks are great. When watching Netflix’s The Witcher, I knew this was a soundtrack I’d need to download. Not just for the hit ‘Toss a Coin to Your Witcher’, but for how beautiful, epic and medieval it is.
The soundtrack, which runs for three hours, includes 55 songs from the show. The soundtrack was composed by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli who have worked on The Mist and Sacred Lies. Over 60 instruments were recorded and performed by Sonya and Giona, and many were custom made specifically for the series.
Oh, Valley of Plenty…
Of course, we also get the songs performed by Joey Batey’s bard Jaskier. The jovial ditty ‘The Fishmonger’s Daughter’ he performed at the Cintran Banquet and the romantic ballad ‘Her Sweet Kiss’ are included.
Sonya took to Twitter to reveal some trivia facts behind the making of the soundtrack. She revealed that ‘The Song of the White Wolf’ which played in the finale was the first song recorded, and was sung by show writer Declan de Barra. Joey Batey was also “sick as a dog” (his words) when he recorded Toss a Coin to Your Witcher.’

In other Witcher news, Netflix has announced a Witcher anime film is in the works. Titled Nightmare of the Wolf, this spin-off explores “a powerful new threat facing The Continent.” It’s being developed by Studio Mir, who created The Legend of Korra anime series. There is no word on whether the series’ actors will reprise their roles in the film.
