Spokko Games have announced they will end The Witcher: Monster Slayer on June 30, 2023. The developers explained on the website that the game failed to meet their business expectations. This move to shut down comes only two years after the official launch of the mobile game.

Details on the End of The Witcher: Monster Slayer Game

According to the information release, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will cease operation at the end of June 2023. Meanwhile, the franchise will avail the game on Google Play Store and App Store until January 31, 2023, for downloads.

Spokko Game developers also add that they will end all in-game purchases on January 31, 2023. On the same day, the franchise will terminate the provision of any new in-game content. On the other hand, expect some “big changes” to the game in February 2023.

In the meantime, Spokko Games will be merging with the CD Projekt family. According to Regulatory Announcements, some members of Spokko Games developers will join the new family to develop a new gaming project. However, the duo will release more information regarding the recent decision in 2023.

The end of The Witcher: Monster Slayer will come in the following phases:

  • 31/01/2023 – The franchise will bring the game down from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
  • 31/01/2023 – The closure of all in-game purchases and the end of the production of new content.
  • 30/06/2023 – Finally, the company shuts down All servers, leading to the official end of the game.

At the same time, the new merger plan is as follows:

  • Next year, CD Projekt will conduct a reorganization meeting to seal the partnership with Spokko Games officially.
  • The partners will incorporate their valuations. Currently, Spokko shares values at PLN 32.4 million, which is equivalent to $7.24 million.
