Rumors surfaced recently that suggested Electronic Arts was going to buy the developers behind the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt CD Projekt RED. However, it appears that this is not the case. According to a tweet from Marcin Momot, the Community Manager and Website Coordinator at CD Projeckt, who says the founder of the company has denied the rumors.

“Just bumped into Marcin Iwinski — it was new to him. I guess the “informer has better insight than the CD Projekt RED founder,” reads the tweet.

The rumor originated at DSOGaming, which claimed an employee of the developer gave them some inside information about a meeting between Electronic Arts and CD Projekt that was leading to a takeover of the developer.

The rumor was taken poorly by fans of the developer and Witcher series. CD Projekt has earned a lot of respect from the gaming community at large by the way they decided to release free downloadable content for their critically acclaimed RPG. Something that might not happen if under the EA umbrella.
