Last night The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt took home Game of the Year at the 16th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. With now 251 Game of the Year awards under its belt, the Witcher 3 has become the most awarded video game of all time, quite a feat for developer CD Projekt RED. Winning such prestigious awards as: Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Best Story Telling, Best RPG, and of course Game of the Year. There was no shortage of awards to take home for CD Project RED.

The previous record holder for the most awarded video game belonged to The Last of Us, another outstanding title developed by Naughty Dog. It’s nice to see a developer being awarded for their hard work, and CD Project RED definitely deserves all of the praise for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. With other projects in development from the studio, we’re excited to hear more about them, especially Cyberpunk 2077.

It’s no easy task developing a game in the magnitude of The Witcher 3, considering all of the effort put together in creating the playable world: from designing the gameplay, writing thousands of dialogue, programming tedious lines of code, producing the music, and a lot more challenging work involved. Creating a video game is a labor of love, and when the hard work pays off and you’re recognized for it, it can be a pretty wonderful feeling I bet.
