The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just received an unexpected patch on regular Xbox One models, which has led many to think CD Projekt RED was implementing some new stuff into the much-beloved role-playing game.

And that’s the truth, indeed: as confirmed by CDPR’s community lead Marcin Momot, the patch, weighing in at around 400MB, introduces HDR support on Xbox One S, something that thus far has only been implemented on Xbox One X.

According to Momot, the download also fixes some “visual bugs” the Polish development team encountered throughout its journey on The Witcher 3 and of course in the feedback coming from the players themselves.

Interestingly, the PS4 Pro user base is still waiting for a similar patch, and the community lead revealed just a few hours ago that the team has met some issues when working on it and will need a bit more time to publish it:

“PS4 Pro HDR patch is still very much in development. Due to the fact that we’ve discovered some additional bugs along the way, we need more time to finish it,” said Momot, detailing the reasons why the patch is being delayed this much.

We’ll update you as soon as more details get released about this topic. In the meantime, have fun on your HDR-enabled Xbox One S.

Yes, it does, along with some visual bug fixes.
