Kieran Shipka, from Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has appeared in Riverdale‘s promo trailer. Not only is it a clash of worlds, but it’s a clash of networks. Shipka’s Sabrina is native to Netflix and Riverdale to the CW. The two series are not so different on paper though, both written by Archie Comics. The promo trailer shows that Riverdale has no shortage of chaos, a little mayhem, and…a little magic. The crossover will be a five-episode event.

The Sabrina-Riverdale crossover is nothing new to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. He previously stated, “We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening as part of our Riverdale special event. It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.” It shall be interesting to see how the two worlds will intertwine.

Kiernan Shipka Travels from Westbridge to Riverdale

Kiernan Shipka played Sabrina Spellman on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for four seasons. Due to low viewership and the COVID-19 pandemic, Netflix canceled the series. Shipka dazzled fans as the young, half-witch, half-mortal that fights off evil forces and has a love life. She earned an MTV Movie & TV Award for playing the witch.

The promo shows a little witchery and a devil so it seems to be Spellman’s kind of place. It’s not clear how Sabrina will work her magic on Riverdale, but it hints at a Cheryl Blossom (played by Madelaine Petsch) having previously been acquainted. There have been implications of the Blossom family and Westbridge, and these coming episodes will put the rumors to rest.

Riverdale will return for a devilish time on November 16 on the CW.
