Players will be able to choose between original and new graphics.
The Telltale Definitive Series will be updating the graphics of Season One, Season Two, Michonne, and A New Frontier by applying the more comic book-inspired Graphic Black art style that was utilized in The Final Season to them. However, after some screenshots and footage of this new art style were shown off, some fans have been unhappy with the new look and prefer the original graphics of the older games. Luckily, fans that feel this way won’t have to worry anymore, as Skybound Games (who took over development of The Final Season and is now overseeing the development of The Telltale Definitive Series now that Telltale is no more – it’s a long story) has recently confirmed on Twitter that The Telltale Definitive Series will allow players to switch between the older games’ original graphics and the new Graphic Black graphics.
Season One, Season Two, and Michonne have actually had three graphical styles now: their original graphics; the graphical update from The Walking Dead Collection, which updated these games’ graphics to match those of A New Frontier, which was the newest game in the series at the time; and these new Graphic Black graphics. At this time, it is not known if players of The Telltale Definitive Series will be able to switch between all three graphical styles for these older games, or if only the original and Graphic Black styles will be available.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series will be released on September 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Switch version eventually coming later.
