An Unexpected Journey in The Unexpected Quest
Explore, build, gather, and fight in The Unexpected Quest, a new fantasy real-time strategy (RTS) title from developer Rionix. Set for PC release later this year, players will be managing their ever-evolving land in a tale of exploration and adventure.
The Unexpected Quest takes familiar cues from other RTS classics such as The Settlers and Warcraft III, where you would collect resources, establish bases, and train soldiers in different but similar settings. Rionix’s title will be set in a medieval era, along with a more playful art style compared to the aforesaid games.
The announcement trailer showcases the basic mechanics and some of the encounters in The Unexpected Quest, with small hints to its narrative upon battling against magical foes. You will explore a mysterious land as you continue to build your homes and defenses, bringing in new things to fight off the unforeseen forces of evil. Everything from creating potions to meeting the many creatures can be briefly seen. Both the announcement trailer and a gameplay video can be viewed on the game’s Steam page.
Rionix is a small team from Russia that aims to make new and interesting experiences. The Unexpected Quest will be published by PQube, an international distributor of interactive entertainment. They have published various titles under their wing, including Hell Warders, Cat Quest, BlazBlue, Nippon Marathon, and several others.
You can now wishlist the game from Steam and be notified on its updates and official release date, which will be sometime later on this year. Other screenshots can viewed on the Steam page, and a playable demo is available for those who are taking an interest in the game.
