Indie comic The Unearthians may be heading to the big screen with a new deal from KDMG in a live-action movie. According to Deadline, the agreement grants KDMG the exclusive rights to represent the comic series in live-action adaptations. Named one of 2019’s “10 Best Indie Titles You Can Find” by CBR, this deal could see the comic adapted for television or film. The series is an intriguing story that should translate well to live-action, no matter how it is adapted.

What is The Unearthians About?

Omar Mora created and wrote The Unearthians comic. He debuted the book at 2019’s San Diego Comic-Con. Under his Moras Productions, Mora launched the comic as a limited series. It soon became a hit amongst indie comic books.

The Unearthians follow Mateo and Carter’s story, two best friends that are abducted by aliens. As the two are placed in an underground base, they decide to learn more about their alien kidnappers. They choose to fight back when they uncover an evil plot that puts Earth in danger. Teaming up with other beings, they begin a journey to save the world and the entire galaxy.

However, what makes the comic an intriguing departure from other series is what Mateo and Carter are hiding. The two friends use a secret of their own against the aliens – they are vampires. Galaxy-saving team-ups, evil aliens, and vampire best friends; this comic has it all.

Sounds Cool…What Does This News Mean?

In a statement, Mora had this to say about the news; “I’m excited to have KDMG in our corner. They can open big doors for our story. I can’t wait to start pitching our series to studios and big streamers. I already have plans for three seasons and spin-offs. Hopefully, The Unearthians will soon join other comics like Dead Day in getting a live-action adaptation.
