The Uncharted movie has had its release date pushed back three months to March 5, 2021, according to IGN.
The film has been struggling since 2008 to come to the big screen. After multiple delays, the film was set to release in theaters December 2020, with Tom Holland as the titular Nathan Drake. Mark Wahlberg is joining Holland as Sully, although he was initially set to play Nathan himself.
Speaking of directors, Uncharted has gone through them rather quickly. The Uncharted movie has lost six directors so far, such as David O. Russell, Dan Trachtenberg, Neil Burger, Seth Gordon, Shawn Levy, and, most recently, Travis Knight. However, Venom director Ruben Fleischer is currently being considered to take the helm.
With all this drama, it’s only natural that Sony has delayed the film to March 5, 2021.
The Uncharted movie is the first partnership between Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions. PlayStation Productions is a sect of Sony Interactive Entertainment that produces adaptations of PlayStation’s exclusives. No new projects have been announced as of yet, but PlayStation Productions are teaming up Chuck Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad to produce the film.
The Uncharted video games are some of PlayStation’s most successful and critically acclaimed exclusives. Uncharted’s impact on gaming cannot be overstated, changing how people viewed video games and how they were made.

Although news on the Uncharted video game series has been quiet, actor Nolan North, who plays Nathan Drake in all four games, has been playing through the series for the first time. He has been doing this with his friend and colleague Troy Baker, who plays Sam in Uncharted 4, on their YouTube channel, Retro Replay.
