A week ago, an update on Frictional Games’ website was revealed. Close to a week later, after being spotted, the ‘thing’ at the heart of nextfrictionalgame.com is beginning to grow. But into what?

At first, it looked like a neuron, some speculated. As it stands, the reveal remains a complete mystery, taking the appearance of a flashing earlobe. Every gamer and fan seems to have a theory. Frictional, meanwhile, has fallen off the radar regarding social media, leaving eager fans without answers to questions on its meaning.

If anything has been made clear by the horror developer, responsible for the acclaimed Amnesia series, they are not saying a word.

In conclusion, it might be a monster, or it might even be a science fiction landscape.

However, at the rate the ‘thing’ has been building in size, it may be some time before Frictional, makers of Amnesia, reveal their hand.

No one can wait to discover what Frictional are working on.

SOMA was released back in September 2015. This feels like a lifetime ago now. Upon release, it received positive reviews from critics.

They hailed SOMA as “a sustained exploration of an original and thought-provoking idea.”

They further said: “SOMA maintains an unsettling level ambiguity which has you doubting everyone and everything around you.”

Last month, GOG.com offered SOMA for free in a winter sale. However, it only lasted until December 30. Other DRM titles available during the winter sale included The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, FTL: Advanced Edition and BioShock Remastered.

Maybe in a couple of months, there’ll be another story about the mystery flashing shape on Frictional’s website. Only this time, we will finally know more.
