The Escapists is a wonderfully crafted and charming series in every right imaginable. Your goal is to simply escape prison, but that goal becomes increasingly complex as time goes on. One moment you’re escaping your classic state prison, the next you’re evading aliens and making your way back home. Every experience in The Escapists is different and fun, but the team behind the games wants to make something new. Enter The Survivalists, a survival game on a deserted island, covered in fauna and helper monkeys to help you learn to survive. Its been in development for some time, but the team is happy to say The Survivalists is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 9th. You can find the release date trailer below:
As mentioned previously, the game puts you and up to three friends on a deserted island filled with secrets. Here, you must learn to survive and create defenses for yourself, since you’re not alone. The residents that live here don’t take kindly to your intrusion, so show them what you’re made of. In The Survivalists, the choice is up to you how you proceed. Do you explore and find various resources? Will you try to take on the hostile natives? Perhaps getting an army of monkeys is more your thing (yes you can do that)? Build up your tools, create defenses, and roll to your heart’s content when The Survivalists releases next month.
The Survivalists is published by Team17, a team of professionals who put out high-quality, charming indie titles. You’ve likely played a game of theirs at some point, especially their Overcooked series. The laughs to be shared and friendships to be shattered while playing it is insurmountable, and we suggest it if you have a few friends to play with. It’s also on Game Pass, so you can play it through there if you please.
For now, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the news. Will you be rolling your way into The Survivalists on October 9th? What do you think of the developer’s previous The Escapists series? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
