Do you fancy treating yourself to a new video game to play this holiday season? Thankfully, it’s that time of year when Steam has you covered. You can now purchase a great title at a heavily discounted price thanks to the always anticipated Steam Winter Sale! And after a year as crazy as 2020 has been, it’s the perfect time to escape into the virtual world for a fraction of the cost.

For PC gamers, the Steam sale is most definitely the most wonderful time of the year. The 2020 event brings discounts to thousands of games as well as festive items in the Steam Points Shop. Also, you can now use in-line emojis and stickers to react to messages in Steam Chat. Clearly, there are plenty more awesome things going on here than just discounted games.

So far, some big discounts include DOOM Eternal  (67% off), Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition (50% off), and Halo: The Master Chief Collection (40% off). Of course, that’s just three stand-out deals — there are thousands more to indulge in.

As we’ve come to accept from previous sales, the Steam Store is constantly crashing and going live again as keen gamers want to empty the wallets on cheap games. But you’ll be glad to know that there is plenty of time to get some cut-price games. The Steam Winter Sale 2020 runs until 1 PM ET on January 5th.

Additionally, voting has commenced for the highly-coveted 2020 Steam Awards. Game of the Year nominees include Red Dead Redemption II, Death Stranding, DOOM Eternal, Hades, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Voting will close at 9 am PT on January 3. Be sure to cast your vote. Many gamers will be doing it, and you’ll earn trading cards for doing so.
