The Sims 4 is known for its plethora of expansions, taking its game to wild new places like Strangerville, letting sims Dine Out and Get To Work, and adding occults like mermaids and witches. The Sims 4 team is always adding new, diverse content to the game. The last addition to the game was Nifty Knitting (or Love 2 Knit depending on who you ask) and people have been looking for hints about the next one.

Well, The Sims’ official website posted a tutorial video on how to submit Sim Spark’d challenge entries.  Luckily for fans, the observant Polish fansite, DotSim, noticed a never-seen-before icon for a new expansion on the left side of the tutorial’s screen.  Since then, fans have hotly debated the icon among the Sims community, throwing around popular ideas. The forerunners are Ski Resort, Future World, and Star Wars.

Let’s go over each of them.

Ski Resort:

One of the most popular theories for the new expansion is a winter wonderland, ski resort style. EA and The Sims 4 haven’t offered a vacation-focused world in a long time (since Jungle Adventure in 2018). Fans want to have more season-centric build items, actions, and CAS content. From the tall mountain and possible flaky/starry sky, it’s a possibility. However, more recent, less pixelated versions of the icon seem to have three suns. That might kill everyone’s beautiful, wintry dreams.

Future World:

Another option is a future world, where there is future tech, aliens, legacies, oh my! Like Discover University and Cats & Dogs, previous games have had a future pack, where there are a bunch of futuristic styles, family members from the future, and more. With the possible three suns and weird futuristic building, it does suggest space. Fans wonder if The Sims 4 will use this opportunity to add another beloved old pack to the series.

Star Wars:

This option has come with mixed reactions. Clever artists have pointed out that the cliff face, buildings, and possible three suns look like Baatu from Disneyworld’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. The Sims 4 has done a collaboration with Star Wars before and it could be even more content from a galaxy far, far away.

However, other than some costumes,  fans don’t know how well this will work. Would it be a vacation? Would it be like the future world but… Star Wars? Or would it basically just be an add-on advertisement for Star Wars merch?
