The wait for Samsung’s next-gen flagships is finally over as the company has now officially unveiled the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona. While previous leaks about the flagship duo have pretty much confirmed everything new in the devices, here’s a quick refresher of what all you’ll get with Samsung’s latest flagships:
While the latest flagships bear a striking resemblance with the previous-gen Galaxy S8/S8+, Samsung has implemented a couple well-thought-out design changes. The new devices have a slightly smaller bottom bezel, the fingerprint sensor has been re positioned to the center of the back panel, and the devices will be available in a couple of new colors.
Samsung has also packed in an enhanced facial recognition feature which makes use of the iris scanner with other sensors for more accurate and secure facial recognition. The new sensors also allow iPhone X-like ‘3D Emoji’. The devices will be available for pre-orders from March 2nd and are expected to start shipping from March 16th. Priced at $719.99 and $839.99 respectively, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be formidable competitors in the flagship smartphone space this year.
