The final film of the Skywalker Saga has an official release date. Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, will see an official release date of March 17 for digital. It’ll be available in HD and 4K Ultra HD™, as well as via Movies anywhere. Then, there’s the physical release, two weeks later, released in 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and DVD on March 31.
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, directed by JJ Abrams, amassed more than a billion dollars worldwide. Star Wars fans can also look forward to over two hours of bonus material. This includes a feature-length, making-of documentary, and behind-the-scenes access from everyone who bought the ninth film in the franchise together.
More still, there’s exclusive content on the Pasaana desert scenes, as well as the landspeeder chase. Plus, there’s the droid D-0 and the ship in which Rey discovers her past.
It gets better because there’s more. There are clips from Warwick Davis, who speaks about reprising his role as Wicket the Ewok, to the creature effects team responsible for the production of a staggering 584 droids and creatures for The Rise Of Skywalker.
If you’ve got 4k Ultra HD capability at home, there’s the 4K UHD Ultimate Collector’s Edition, which comes with Blu-Ray and digital copies. In short, 4K Ultra HD provides four times the resolution of HD. On top of the picture and sound, there’s also Dolby Atmos audio.
It’d be like being in the cinema all over again. Honestly, it’s the best way to enjoy these films.
If all of this isn’t enough for you, then there’s more. On March 31, to coincide with the physical release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, eight Star Wars films will be released on 4K UHD, a first-ever for the franchise.
