Exactly one month after releasing The Punisher Season 2, Netflix announced that Marvel Television shows The Punisher and Jessica Jones are being canceled. As a result, this marks the end of the licensing agreement between the two entertainment studios.

In response to the cancellation news, many long-time fans feel this is the end of Marvel Television. However, the Disney-owned company has plans for the upcoming streaming service, Disney+.

In a statement released by Executive Vice President of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb, a brief history of the studio is outlined. He then goes on to mention the obstacles and hurdles set before them and thanked fans for their loyalty.

Netflix said this on the cancellation:

Because the future isn’t clear, Marvel Television’s vague game plan isn’t helping to alleviate the loss.  However, the game plan is promising a future.
