Apple released the first teaser for The Problem with Jon Stewart. The show is set to air on September 30, with new episodes every other week, exclusively on Apple TV+. The Problem with Jon Stewart will also have a companion podcast premiering on September 30 with weekly episodes via Apple Podcasts and RSS. Stewart will act as host and executive producer with his Busboy Production studio. Brinda Adhikari will be the showrunner and also an executive producer. James Dixon and Richard Plepler also step in as executive producers with Plepler’s EDEN Productions. EDEN Productions currently has an overall production deal with Apple. Chelsea Devantez serves as head writer and Lorrie Baranek will serve as the supervising producer.

Jon Stewart is Aging Like a Fine Wine

 

Set to have multiple seasons, The Problem with Jon Stewart will take a deep dive on large, single issues. In each episode, Stewart will speak with those impacted by the issue as well as those whose participation led to creating the issue. Together, the three parties will discuss and try to put together an actionable plan. The companion podcast will take the conversation further. It will feature interviews with activists in the sphere of the issue, different facts on the issue, and lots of humor with the inclusion of staff across the show.

Jon Stewart is best known for being the host of The Daily Show from 1996-2015. His witty banter and insightful satire brought delight to an entire generation while informing them of larger issues. Stewart is also a prolific writer, having released several books and serving as the writer for such shows as The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report. This will be Stewart’s first foray into the Apple TV+ world.
