The critically acclaimed The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment has been confirmed to be coming to Nintendo Switch for quite a while, and we now know that it will be coming to Switch in early 2020. While no exact date has been confirmed, it has been said by the game’s publisher Private Division that it will be out before the end of the fiscal year, which means at the latest it will be out before March 31st, 2020.
The Outer Worlds is a single-player first-person RPG that takes heavy influence from the modern Fallout games, which shouldn’t be surprising, seeing how Obsidian developed fan-favorite Fallout: New Vegas. The game deals with themes of late-stage capitalism and unchecked corporatism and is set in a space future where nearly all commerce is controlled by big business and just waiting to be liberated by a lone space adventurer with a handful of spunky companions. The Outer Worlds has already sold well and done very well critically and even has some critics claiming that Obsidian’s efforts have outdone bigger mainstream competitors such as Bethesda.
