Since it launched on March 3, 2017, the Switch has amassed sales of nearly 15 million units as of Dec. 31, 2017, according to Nintendo.

Specifically, 14.86 million units were sold. Now that January is about to end, we can probably chalk up several more units onto that number. That’s a lot of consoles.

In terms of Switch software sales, the total overall jumped to 52.57 million across all game titles, with Super Mario Odyssey leading the pack at 9.07 million sales. That’s hardly surprising, given Mario’s overall popularity and the quality of the latest Mario adventure. It seems everyone wanted to jump and grab coins with the world’s favorite plumber, as the game’s song “Jump Up, Super Star!” says.

Speaking on the top 10 sales on Switch for specific games, you’ve got Mario Kart 8 Deluxe trailing Super Mario Odyssey at 7.33 million units and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 6.70 million units. Behind that is Splatoon 2 at 4.91 million units. None of these positions for sales are particularly surprising, given how excellent that lineup actually is, but it’s still interesting to see the numbers behind the sales.

The Switch will most likely keep on its successful, with a full docket of releases coming down the line. So we’ll likely be seeing these numbers inflate as the year goes on.
