The latest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals the first details on Atelier Lydie and Soeur: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting. The new game is releasing this winter in Japan for PS4, PSVita, and Nintendo Switch, achieving a variety of platforms at launch rarely seen in the series. It’s also introducing some important gameplay features, like the ability to synthesize items during battles.
The main protagonists of this new tale are the twin sisters Lydie and Soeur. Lydie is the older and quieter sister, while Soeur is younger and much more energetic. The two of them run a small atelier in the city of Melveille, until they get transported into the world depicted in a painting they find.
The game is also supposed to present a graphic overhaul and more gameplay changes from the previous entry. First Day editions of the game will include DLC costumes to make the characters dress up like Marie from Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg and Elier from Atelier Elie: The Alchemist of Salburg 2. The game will launch in standard and limited editions.
Koei Tecmo originally announced this new entry two months ago, along with the mobile game Atelier Online.
Atelier Lydie and Soeur: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting is launching this winter in Japan for PS4, PSVita, and Nintendo Switch. A release date for North America and Europe is yet to be determined.
