Just a few months ago, there was a ton of positive buzz circling Cyberpunk 2077. Sure, there was talk of intense crunch going on at CD Projekt Red but, many still claimed that the studio’s latest title would be an easy contender for Game of the Year. Fast-forward to December 2020 and all of that positive buzz has seemingly been erased. In its place, there are several controversies focused on the game’s performance on last-gen consoles and refunds.

In this episode of The Nerd Stash Show, we’re going to dive into all the pre-release and post-release problems. As always, you can find a description, timestamps, and the episode itself below.

(Note: This episode was recorded on December 17th, 2020 so it does not include any new developments such as the reported conflict between developers and leadership at CD Projekt Red.)

Where to start? Questionable management decisions, a controlled review cycle (not showing base console footage pre-release and only allowing controlled footage for video reviews), lack of proper communication, and Sony PULLING THE GAME FROM PSN? What!? Then there’s the console performance problem. From a massive amount of bugs to unstable framerate and poor models and textures, Cyberpunk 2077 is looking like a previous generation game in all the wrong ways. It’s made fans mad, to say the least. Yeah… there’s a lot to talk about in this one. Strap in, folks. We’ve got a long one for you.”
