The new Star Wars series The Mandalorian is just one of a host of new shows heading to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+. Set to release on November 12th Disney has treated fans to the first trailer at their D23 convention, which you can see below.
The Mandalorian is set five years after the destruction of the empire in Return of the Jedi and will star Pedro Pascal as the titular bounty hunter The Mandalorian. Creator Jon Favreau took to the stage to introduce the trailer and provide fans with some information regarding the show.
Joining him on-stage was Thor Ragnarok director, Taika Waititi, who not only directs an episode but also provides his vocal talents to a droid named IG-11. Waititi had this to say regarding droids in the franchise:

The trailer does pique my interest in the show and it seems that Disney has high hopes for The Mandalorian as well. With a reported budget of $120 million for 8 episodes and a host of star names attached they could well be onto a winner. Besides Waititi and Favreau, episodes will be directed by Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow. On the acting front, we will see Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, and Emily Swallow, among others.
