As we ring in the new year, there are plenty of gamers that we have to look forward to in 2015, but perhaps the most anticipated by many is The Legend of Zelda Wii U. Scheduled to release later this year, The Legend of Zelda Wii U looks to offer something we have never seen in the series before, a true open world. To really no one’s surprise, it sounds like this giant world will be littered with an abundance of sidequests based on an interview by Shigeru Miyamoto.

Through an interview by YouTuber iJustine with Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Bill Trinen, naturally a question about The Legend of Zelda Wii U popped up. According to ZeldaInformer,  iJustine asked “Do you see (Zelda U) as one of those games that you can go to complete a certain mission and end up doing fifty things along the way?” Miyamoto responded by saying the following as translated by Trinen:

“There may even be times when you forget what your goal is because you’re doing other things on the side… What we’re trying to do is design it in a way that you don’t necessarily have to sit down and play it for a super long time, but kind of more matched to today’s lifestyle where you can think for a little bit and say ‘oh, I just wanna play for a little bit today’ and do this one thing, and get that done and then take a break.’”

This is very exciting to here, as it sounds like there will be plenty to keep us busy when The Legend of Zelda Wii U launches later this year. For those interested in seeing the full interview that spans plenty of other Nintendo related topics, you can watch the full interview below:
