The Legend of Zelda Wii U was officially announced at the E3 2014 earlier this year courtesy of the Nintendo Digital Event, but we haven’t seen anything out of the game besides interviews since. However, Nintendo has ended the show with a bang by showing off the most footage we have ever seen of the game courtesy of Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma.

In the footage, we see Link venturing around the absolutely insane overworld that we can expect in the game. The lush environments and expansive world itself just is mind blowing from Nintendo. Easily winning the night, we got to see Link jump off a cliff and use his sail cloth while gliding over the massive area. In addition, we see how the map is using on the GamePad and how big the world really can be.

Aonuma said the game is being worked on extremely hard and that it would definitely be out in 2015. Likely we will be seeing The Legend of Zelda Wii U in Nintendo’s typical late November slot next year, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

Either way, it will easily be one of the most anticipated games of 2015 and for good reason it stole the show to close out The Game Awards tonight. You can check out the brand new debut footage from the event below as well for The Legend of Zelda Wii U.
