The graphical style of The Legend of Zelda Wii U is unique and this is because it has been inspired by Japanese anime.

Zelda Informer reported that The Legend of Zelda Wii U director, Eiji Aonuma, was recently interviewed by Famitsu magazine. He talked more about the unique graphical style they decided to do for the upcoming game.

For The Legend of Zelda Wii U, Aonuma wanted to make this game “look different” from all the past games in the series. The graphics were inspired heavily from “Japanese animations”. As Aonuma already mentioned, he promised the game will look even better than it appeared at E3 2014.

It’s great to see that The Legend of Zelda Wii U will look different from other video games out there. Its art style truly does look very unique. Even previous games in the series like The Wind Waker and Skyward Sword had graphics not seen anywhere else.

The Legend of Zelda Wii U is expected to be released sometime in 2015. Nintendo promised more footage from the game will be shared at E3 2015. Let’s hope some footage is shared even before that.

Do you like the graphical style of Zelda Wii U, or would you have preferred a more realistic look?
