The latest event, Battle for Olympus, will last until January 19. Still, it would seem that many players have had enough already. Here 8 players have the opportunity to transform some characters into a God or creature of the Greek Pantheon in an all-for-one match. While the game mode has some new powers, the Battle for Olympus in Overwatch 2 suffers from many balancing issues. Some players are staying away from it due to Roadhog being broken during the event. This is sucking the fun out of it, according to players. The hero power is one-shotting almost all opponents and takes the enjoyment out of the game.

Adding to that, people are also mad that there are no new rewards for veteran players. The Winged Victory Mercy skin, which many have already obtained beforehand, made its way back again. This means that there’s nothing good for old players. While you can jump in and try to have some fun, there are no true rewards there. This is something really bad, especially due to the huge backlash the game has had. While it was promoted as a free-to-play experience, many things are locked behind a paywall or behind hours of grinding. It is sad to see the Battle of Olympus event in Overwatch 2 not reaching the heights of the place it is inspired from. We could say this is trial and error but Blizzard has dropped the ball hard with this game. While WoW Dragonflight is succeeding, this game is falling further from grace every day.
