Naughty Dog has shared a new poster for The Last of Us Part II in the occasion of the 2018 Outbreak Day. The poster is the first public showcase for the character of Joel since the times of the original TLOU game.

As you can see in the poster, we have this quite old man, or at least older than the Joel we’ve met in the first title, playing the guitar with a wolf on his side, close to a fire, in the wild.

The poster itself doesn’t feature any particular detail and doesn’t necessarily have a link with the proper game, although we’ve seen a similar poster two years ago with Ellie’s tattoo which led to the reveal of The Last of Us Part II.

So, it has a bit of relevance when you think that what is featured in the poster might actually be in the final game.

And what’s in the poster, as said, is a wolf and a guitar, together with Joel. Could it be that we’ll play Joel in a separate timeline from what we’ve seen thus far as Ellie, and that in this timeline we’ll have a wolf companion?

On top of that, the theme of music, with guitars being played by the main characters, is returning very often and could have a relevance also when it comes to gameplay, not limited to a pre-release gimmick.

A new The Last of Us Part II #OutbreakDay poster by @deadthicket is available now from @MondoNews until 9am PT Saturday, 9/29. After that, it’s gone! Don’t miss it. https://t.co/mPPXeAuIEV pic.twitter.com/7uBbylaoer
