The Last of Us Part 1 has easily been one of the hottest-anticipated re-releases in recent years. Developed by Naughty Dog and published by PlayStation, The Last of Us Part 1 attempts to recapture the magic of the original 2013 game. What began as a simple remaster has since evolved into a full-fledged remake from the ground up.
Today at Gamescom, Playstation revealed a new The Last of Us Part 1 trailer, showing off more gameplay and cutscenes.
According to the trailer at Gamescom, this culminated in a release date announcement of September 22nd, 2022, for The Last of Us Part 1, meaning fans won’t have long to wait.
New Looks, New Challenges
While a new visual coat of paint is always appreciated, this remake is going beyond the usual offerings by also including new gameplay modifiers like a permadeath difficulty setting for those seeking a bit of additional challenge and a speedrun mode.
Other new features include new unlockable cosmetics, visual filters, and an in-depth photo mode. Additionally, The Last of Us Part 1 will feature both a standard edition and a collector’s edition.

Both editions are now available for pre-order via the official PlayStation website.
The Last of Us Part 1 standard edition includes: “the complete The Last of Us single-player story, and celebrated prequel chapter, Left Behind.”

A PC port for The Last of Us Part 1 is in development and will release at a later date.
