Geoff Keighley has revealed that “around ten” games will be announced at The Game Awards, which is set to air on December 12, 2019.

In a Reddit AMA, Keighley has answered many questions and shared that “nothing about our show has leaked as of this writing,” to remark that those ten games will be surprises for the viewers.

“We have a bunch of brand new games being announced at the show — I think there are around 10 new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet,” he said, and this takes out of the count Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Gears Tactics’ announced world premiere.

Keighley also let his supporters know that “there are no plans (never were) to do anything with Resident Evil 3 at the show.” The remake of Capcom’s survival horror has been heavily rumored this week, but according to the host, it won’t be one of the ten anticipated announcements at The Game Awards.

Further rumors about the Resident Evil 3 remake have pointed out that there’s a chance it could be revealed before The Game Awards, even though at the time of writing, there are no other game events scheduled for December. Jump Festa was hinted as the possible venue, but it’s coming after the TGA.

The Game Awards is an event designed to reward the best games of the season but is also known for the new game announcements provided throughout the event. Last year Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Mortal Kombat 11, Far Cry New Dawn, The Outer Worlds, Sayonara Wild Hearts, a new Dragon Age, and more were revealed.
