The Flash looks to be casting a new trusted team member to the roster when it returns this Fall. As the show heads into its sixth season, a new face could freshen things up.
According to TVLine, producers are looking to add a new scientist who is a math and science whiz. This new character is described as African-American, socially awkward, and obsessed with aliens and their technology.
Little else is known about the new character. The writers could be using an established DC comics name or someone new created for the show. Regardless, they could be replacing Carlos Valdes’ Vibe, who seemingly left the team at the end of this past season.
The description of the new character could be giving away something big. A scientist obsessed with aliens would probably be involved in an alien heavy plot when the show returns. Moreover, with Crisis on Infinite Earths coming up for the Arrowverse, it’s a strong possibility that we will see more extraterrestrials come into play.
The Flash is no stranger to adding new characters season after season. The revolving door of cast members tends to spice things up for a show which is leading the pack in Arrowverse ratings. With Kid Flash and Jessie Quick, as well as a slew of others, new faces pop up on the regular.
The Flash will return for its sixth season on Tuesday, October 8th on the CW.
