It’s been three years since Disney’s actuation of 21st Century Fox. The biggest expectation of Marvel fans was about the X-Men series. Marvel confirmed that X-Men characters would appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe after that acquisition’s complete. We even saw Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, released in the past months. Finally, there is a trusted rumor about the upcoming X-Men title in MCU, and its name is The Mutants.

The deal between Sony and Disney brought terrific titles to the MCU. Considering that the X-Men’s publishing rights are Marvel’s, we can expect a perfect crossover between the Marvel characters we know.

MCU’s X-Men Debut Will Be Named ‘The Mutants’

We were expecting a name change for the series. If you remember, Disney said the team’s name would be changed because there are woman characters on the team. And they said that naming the team as ‘men’ is incorrect. The rumored name, The Mutants, is a safer name, it sounds weird at first, but we might adapt to this name in the future. Also, The Mutants will be the most significant part of MCU’s Phase 5, which is expected to start next year.

The other important information rumor says is that the characters will be younger than we remember. It’s unclear how the scenarists will make it happen, but the surprises never end at Marvel. They might write a multiverse accident story we saw in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is the highest chance.

The X-Men adaptation or The Mutants’ release date hasn’t been revealed, but we expect it in 2024 or 2025; these are the most optimistic estimates. It’s difficult to talk about it because the details are very unclear at the moment, and Marvel likely hasn’t even hired a director for it yet. We might call this situation pre-making, and it might take a long time to get the rest of the details.
