If one does not know to which port one is sailing to, no wind is favorable. Especially when there’s going to be a Kraken in the way. Publisher Wired Productions and indie developer Tomas Sala have announced a recent update for their air combat game, The Falconeer. “The Kraken” is the first of a series of new content updates for the game and will be available for free on PC and Xbox devices starting December 22.

The Falconeer – “The Kraken”

“The Kraken” offers new opportunities for exploration and discovery for current players. The update features new locations such as The Cartohom Cartographers guild and the Batis Wreckdiver company. Cartohom will give players missions to explore the “vast world and lore” of The Great Ursee. Meanwhile, the Batis will plot missions beneath the waves and into the ancient wrecks and treasures of the deep.

The Falconeer developer also revised the AI and combat, making the dogfights “smoother and more spread out.” They have even included new enemy behaviors such as rolling. What’s that, you ask? What if they happen to roll out of sight? With the update, the players will now know where the enemies are via the new off-screen enemy indicator. “The Kraken” includes more “optimizations based on player feedback.”

According to Sala, there will be more DLC updates in 2021 that will “expand the scale and depth” of The Falconeer.

Features

The Falconeer is an open-world air combat game that contrasts fast-paced dogfights with stunning visuals. Players will need to use their acrobatic aerial skills to maneuver around the enemy fire and complete missions. It is a unique air-combat title that features “fantastical creatures” and “jaw-droppingly beautiful” environments.
