The Elder Scrolls, or TES for short, is one the most popular RPG franchises of video games that is mostly famous for its fifth installment, Skyrim. After seven years, Bethesda confirmed the development of The Elder Scrolls 6 at 2018 E3. The studio only showed a brief CGI teaser with the title of the game and nothing else afterward. According to the LinkedIn profile of a Bethesda employee, The Elder Scrolls VI is still in the pre-development stage.

Not only RPG fans but gamers, in general, can’t wait to get another deep and rich experience like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It seems gamers have to wait much longer to get their hands on the next installment of the series since Bethesda is busy working on Starfield, which will be released this year.

A Twitter user named Timur222, that usually analyses gaming sales and LinkedIn profiles of video game developers to see which stage some games are at, posted an image of Fanny Manset LinkedIn profile, the HR generalist at Bethesda, that indicates the development stage of The Elder Scrolls VI.

The update post on Manset’s profile says, “Bethesda Game Studios sets the benchmark for open-world gaming and is currently in full production on Starfield, its first new universe in 25 years, and in pre-production on the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI.”

Bethesda’s last RPG game was Fallout 76, which had a disastrous launch due to many technical problems, and it’s logical to see that studio doesn’t want to make the same mistake. So it seems Bethesda is putting all of its focus and resources on the company’s newest IP, Starfield. Not to mention that Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, doesn’t want any of its studios to suffer from heavy crunch, so it make sense why the development of The Elder Scrolls 6 is not in its next stage.

One thing is for sure, Bethesda has announced TES VI very early. When the game was back announced in 2018, the studio said it was in its pre-development stages. Now, four years later it seems The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in the same development stage.
