Despite some uncertainty in the network’s future, The CW is pushing ahead with several popular scripted TV shows renewals. According to a report from Deadline, The CW is set to renew seven different scripted TV series, including many of its most popular, such as The Flash, Riverdale, and All American. The other CW TV shows currently set to return for another season include Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Superman & Lois, and Walker.

The Future of The CW

The CW will often announce renewals of their TV shows earlier in the year. However, the future of the network is uncertain at the moment. Back in January, it was reported that WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS were looking to sell either their majority stake in The CW or the entire network. So, if there is a change in ownership and leadership at The CW, some of these renewals may never come to pass.

Many of The CW’s TV shows will be entering into extensive series runs if all goes well. This renewal will make way for the ninth season of The Flash, making it the longest running Arrowverse series. It would also permit Riverdale to return for a seventh season and All American for a fifth season. Nancy Drew would return for a fourth season while Kung Fu, Superman & Lois and Walker would return for a third.

However, these are not the only CW scripted TV shows hoping for future seasons. Other long-running shows like Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, Charmed Legacies, and Batwoman are also awaiting an announcement of renewal or cancellation. Joining them are some of The CW’s newer programs, such as 4400, Naomi, and All American: Homecoming, which all began airing their first seasons in recent months.

The CW also announced plans to renew several unscripted series. This includes programs like Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Masters of Illusion, and World’s Funniest Animals.
