The CW has given us our first look at season three of Superman and Lois with a new trailer. And based on what we see, there’s some serious family drama afoot for the Kents. For one thing, Lois (Bitsie Tulloch) reveals to Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) that she may be pregnant. We also learn that she will go missing in season three at some point, which doesn’t exactly have her father (Dylan Walsh) happy. We also see Clark screaming her name as the Daily Planet’s tower crumbles around her. All these high stakes and the first look at Michael Bishop as Jon Kent (replacing Jordan Elsass) suggest that viewers have a lot to look forward to in Superman and Lois season three.

The CW Teases High Stakes and an Old Foe in ‘Superman and Lois’ Season 3

The chaos in this trailer suggests high stakes for the Kents in Superman and Lois season three. And as if what we saw in the trailer isn’t enough, the new season may bring in Superman’s most notable foe, Lex Luthor. Actor Jon Cryer, who has portrayed Luthor in the Arrowverse before, said in December that the CW was hiring actors to play the part of Luthor in this upcoming season (Cryer is not reprising the role). While he has been referenced, Luthor has not yet appeared in Superman and Lois. Given his iconic status as a villain, it is high time he made his grand entrance.

Clark will also have to deal with some more drama with one of his sons. In a TV spot teasing Superman and Lois season three and the new series Gotham Knights, Clark is seen scolding his son Jordan (Alex Garfin) for nearly revealing himself to the whole world. Jordan, the only Kent boy with powers, insists that he has it under control. However, a shot of Jordan destroying a construction project with his heat vision suggests Jordan may be taking a page from his brother in season two and getting a bit reckless.

Superman and Lois is the most recent show connected to the CW’s Arrowverse. The last remaining staple of that franchise, The Flash, is coming to a halt very soon. Gotham Knights will soon be the newest addition to the Arrowverse, and it will premiere alongside Superman and Lois season three on March 14th.
