The CW has dropped another trailer for its new series, Gotham Knights. While we did get a glance at the series back in May of 2022, this trailer gives us our deepest look at Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) and his crew of unlikely allies as they try to solve the murder of his father. This includes a group of young thieves, a girl named Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan), who is believed to be the Joker’s daughter, and more of the offspring of Batman’s enemies. Navia Robinson also joins the fight as Carrie Kelley, who is the notable first female Robin. Together they must solve the murder of Batman and, subsequently, Bruce Wayne, a murder they are all suspects for. This includes Turner himself, who is accused of killing his adoptive father for his money.

The CW Teases Hated and Hunted Heroes in ‘Gotham Knights’ Trailer

The Gotham Knights trailer describes its heroes as “hated hunted heroes.” This is aptly put, as these new heroes are also Gotham’s most-wanted fugitives. With Batman gone, Gotham needs a new symbol of hope and heroism. But given the crimes these young vigilantes are accused of, winning Gotham over is sure to be a challenge. Moreover, can they learn to trust each other, given their family ties? It’s Batman’s orphan teaming up with the children of those his father locked up. As Duela puts it, “Time to pick a side.” It’s clear that loyalty will be tested with this team.

While a new CW series related to the Arrowverse should be good news, the first trailer for Gotham Knights was met with a world of backlash. Viewers seem worried about the new character of Turner Hayes, and they aren’t happy, so many other shows are being canceled to let this one they consider unnecessary in. The CW had quite a slew of cancelations last year, much to the annoyance of some viewers. And with the long-running Arrowverse series The Flash coming to an end, viewers aren’t sure that the Arrowverse is going to be the same anymore.

With The Flash ending, Superman and Lois is the only other Arrowverse series on the CW, which is entering its third season. That season will premiere before the series premiere of Gotham Knights on Tuesday, March 14th.
