The Chasm is one of Genshin Impact’s most long-awaited areas, having been namedropped in various in-game dialogues before Inazuma and Dragonspine’s releases. In the recent livestream for Version 2.5, miHoYo left players with a special treat: a first look into The Chasm, which is confirmed to arrive in Version 2.6.

Talks about The Chasm have always gone hand-in-hand with the Dendro Element. An adorable character from Liyue named Yaoyao, whose character design gives off earthy vibes, was speculated to be one of the first Dendro characters to eventually appear in the game—while being the entry point to The Chasm.
However, the recent livestream made no mention of the Dendro Element nor its possible release date. Leakers have contributed to this idea in earlier leaks, with rough speculations that Dendro will make its debut alongside Sumeru in a later update. Twitter user Ubatcha1, who correctly teased The Chasm’s Version 2.6 release, has tweeted in support of this theory.
While the timeline for Sumeru and the Dendro Element’s release is pretty vague, some early leaks suggest that they may come after the summer update, which could possibly be after Version 2.8.
