It would seem that the official survival horror season has begun. The Callisto Protocol just launched, and people are jumping into the game’s beautifully crafted world to play. Yet, even with the attention to detail, the amazing acting, and perfect graphics, it isn’t all smooth sailing for Krafton, the developers of the game. The Callisto Protocol reviews on Steam right now are pretty bad. They hold a Mostly Negative score, which is terrible for a newly released game, especially one that is a somewhat spiritual successor of Dead Space. It would seem that the negative reviews have something to do with The Callisto Protocol’s performance on PC, which, as users have reported, is not good at all.

The Callisto Protocol gets bad reviews due to its PC performance

Players who’ve gotten the game for PC have reported a horrible time when playing it. Some have experienced crashes, freezes, frame-dips, and more. On consoles though, the experience seems a lot better. Some Reddit users are saying that Xbox is the ideal console to play the game though. Meanwhile, The Callisto Protocol PC performance is terrible so far. We don’t know if the studio is planning to fix these things yet but hopefully, it’ll do it soon.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Editions Revealed

On the other side of things, The Callisto Protocol reviews aren’t too bad, at least for people with next-gen consoles. Metacritic reviews for PS5 are on the 76 mark which isn’t bad. However, one would think that a PC might have an easier time running a detailed game such as this one, but it seems a bit more optimization is needed. So far, the game is one of the best-looking ones of this year, and there’s even more content coming along the way. If the developers manage to fix the performance, then it is a title to consider playing eventually. You can get The Callisto Protocol right now or wait for the other games coming next year. Some of them include Resident Evil 4 Remake and the new Silent Hill title.
