The Boss Baby returns and this time there’s a new boss baby in town. The sequel to the Oscar-nominated Dreamworks Animation film is coming to theatres next year and the first trailer has just dropped.

The upcoming animated comedy film titled The Boss Baby: Family Business finds the Templeton brothers, Tim and Ted (James Marsden and Alec Baldwin) all grown up and estranged from one another.  But a new boss baby with a cutting-edge approach and a can-do attitude is about to bring them together again.

According to a synopsis from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation, Boss Baby Ted has grown up to become a hedge fund CEO while Tim, now a stay-at-home dad, lives in the suburbs with his wife, Carol (Eva Longoria), who is the breadwinner of the family, and their super-smart 7-year-old daughter Tabitha (Ariana Greenblatt of Avengers: Infinity War), and adorable new infant Tina (Amy Sedaris, Netflix’s BoJack Horseman).

Tabitha who’s at the top of her class at the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood idolizes her Uncle Ted and wants to become just like him as her father worries about her missing out on a normal childhood.

The plot thickens when it’s revealed that Tina is no ordinary infant ( surprise!) but a top-secret agent for BabyCorp on a mission to uncover the dark secrets behind Tabitha’s school and its mysterious founder, Dr. Edwin Armstrong (Jeff Goldblum). Not only that, Tim and Ted though are now grown up they are apparently given the ability to become babies again for 48 hours due to a special formula developed by BabyCorp, which they use to help Tina with her mission.

Directed by Tom McGrath with a script by Michael McCullers, the tales of baby espionage will continue with The Boss Baby: Family Business hitting theatres on March 26, 2021. Watch the first trailer for the sequel below.
