The Boomsday Project Priest Legendary Is Going To Be Tough To Get Rid Of

Priest is getting a pretty sticky-looking minion in Hearthstone‘s next expansion.

The Boomsday Project is the game’s next expansion, and each class will get two legendaries—one minion and, for the first time, one spell.

Zerek, Master Cloner is a legendary six mana 5/5 Priest minion. When it dies, it will be resummoned if you’ve played any spells on it. So if you hit Power Word: Shield on it, you’ll get a new 5/5 when it dies.

The effect is pretty awesome, especially given how many spells Priest has that fit the bill for this. This minion could well stick around on the board and be a real ongoing threat. If it’s really strong, expect to see a rise in Silence being played on ladder—Spellbreaker is already pretty popular.

The Boomsday Project is the second expansion of the current Standard year, the Year of the Raven. It will add 135 new cards to the game, including new keywords like Magnetic. It is currently available to pre-order, with all the cards becoming available on Aug. 7.
