Psyonix continues to roll out content to please Rocket League players. From superheroes to supercars, the game has seen its fair share of unique content. Of course, cosmetics and crossovers are great, but don’t forget the gameplay! Specifically, let’s talk about Hoops. If Hoops is your favorite Rocket League game mode, then I have some good news for you. The Block Party Event kicks off today in Rocket League, bringing with it a brand new Hoops arena.

What is The Block Arena in Rocket League?

According to today’s announcement, The Block Arena is a new, outdoor arena in the Sovereign Heights park. As you might guess, The Block Party Event is named in honor of this new arena.

“To celebrate its construction, we’re introducing The Block Party, a basketball-focused In-Game Event with some baller Block Party Challenge Rewards. Completing Event Challenges will reward you with the animated Double Dribble Topper, Game Time Player Anthem, a Very Rare Drop, and huge XP Rewards. ”

The Block Party Event also adds a new player anthem to the game: “Jump” by Van Halen. It is worth noting that the song is only available for a limited time while the event is running. It’s also worth noting that this event will bring some temporary changes to Rocket League.

“Get ready to show off your skills! Hoops will take over the regularly scheduled 1 p.m. PDT Competitive Tournaments Extra Modes slot on North American servers and the 1 p.m. UTC slot on European servers during The Block Party.”
