Microsoft believes that it is in prime position to sell a lot of Xbox 360 consoles this holiday season.  Microsoft’s Matt Barlow, who handles Interactive Entertainment product marketing believes that the Xbox 360 is a clear choice for those looking for a new system, and it’s due to the vast library of games which are rated better on the console.

In a recent interview with Games Industry, Barlow says:

“I can’t  think of a better console for them to choose than one that has the most games available, the highest rated games available, than the Xbox 360 platform… ” If you think about those preeminent best selling blockbuster games that they’re going to want to play – Halo, Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed, Forza, Nike + Kinect Fitness – they either play first or they play best on Xbox 360 and nowhere else.”

This will be both Microsoft and Sony’s first holiday season facing off against Nintendo’s Wii U, a third console looking to appeal to core gamers with franchises like the ones mentioned by Barlow.  Later this month, popular games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed III, and others will arrive on the Wii U as well as the Xbox 360.
