Today was a big day for Batman fans as James Gunn, one of the heads of DC Studios, made several announcements regarding the future of the DC universe. Perhaps one of the biggest of those announcements is the Batman sequel starring Robert Pattinson. Called The Batman Part II, the film will hit theatres on October 3, 2025.

Matt Reeves will return to direct the sequel to the 2022 film. What makes The Batman so unique is that this version of the character is separate from the interconnected DC world. Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman is much darker than fans are used to seeing the character. James Gunn labeled The Batman sequel starring Robert Pattinson as DC Elsewhere. This includes films such as The Joker 2 and, of course, The Batman from 2022.

Of course, this also means DC will soon announce a new Batman actor for the official Universe. There was no mention of when they will film the 2025 sequel. Mattson Tomlin is reportedly co-writing the upcoming movie. In addition to announcing The Batman sequel, there is a new Superman film releasing the same year.

‘The Batman’ Sequel Follows A Box Office Hit

The Batman with Robert Pattinson starring was released to theaters on March 4, 2022. Before its release, there was a sense of doubt among some fans of Batman as some thought of Robert Pattinson as Edward from Twilight. But as many were aware, Robert Pattinson is a great actor who has done some great work. For example, there’s The Lighthouse, which is critically acclaimed. Upon release, The Batman received largely positive reviews and became a box office success. The film has a worldwide gross of over $770 million. If this is any indication, the Matt Reeves directed Batman sequel will also be a hit.

There seems to be much excitement online for this Batman sequel. With the amount of work that goes into a movie of this magnitude, we’re sure filming will begin relatively soon. So who do you think DC will cast as the official Batman? Also, do you think The Batman sequel starring Robert Pattinson will make more at the box office than the first film?
