The Batman: The Breakout Star of 2022

The Batman was a breakout box office smash. Although critics initially had their doubts, it has quickly become one of the most successful superhero films in cinematic history in a matter of weeks. The film, which is still playing in theaters, has grossed over $700,000,000 worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of the year to date.

How The Movie Sets Itself Apart

The Batman is highly reviewed amongst both critics and fans. It sets itself apart with its inclusive cast (Jeffrey Wright being the first African-American to take on the role of Commissioner Jim Gordon), attention to detail (being the first film addressing Batman’s black eye makeup), and fresh take on the character of Bruce Wayne, who was allegedly partially inspired by the late Kurt Cobain. Actor Robert Pattinson’s reclusive, tortured approach to the playboy billionaire philanthropist earned him high praise and adoration from viewers despite the initial backlash that ensued when Pattinson was cast. Not only is The Batman considered one of the best Batman films of all time, but many are declaring Robert Pattinson to be one of the best Bruce Wayne’s of all time.

The Batman is a Warner Bros film directed by Matt Reeves. The DC film stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, and Peter Sarsgaard. The Batman follows a young Bruce Wayne at the start of his career as the masked vigilante. While investigating the sadistic murders of the crazed serial killer, The Riddler, Batman also dives deep into Gotham city’s hidden corruption as he questions his family’s involvement.

You can stream The Batman on HBO Max on April 18, 2022.
