The McElroy brothers (and daddy) are at it again! Earlier this week, the McElroy family released a teaser trailer for the 3rd season of The Adventure Zone! The trailer contains some delightful details about the content of the podcast’s 3rd season. Fans of the podcast are sure to be thrilled at the news. And so, without further adieu, take a closer look at The Adventure Zone Season 3: Graduation!

A History of Role-Play

To understand The Adventure Zone Season 3, take a look at the podcast’s history. The Adventure Zone is a now-famous actual-play podcast run by three brothers and their loving father. Years ago, the podcast got its start as an offshoot of the McElroy’s first podcast, My Brother, My Brother and Me. Now, because of its outrageous boom in popularity, TAZ enters its third full season.

The first season sees sweet baby brother Griffin DM a glorious D&D campaign entitled Balance. Through Griffin’s magnificent storytelling and his family’s exquisitely comedic role-playing skills, TAZ became famous. Due to its loving reception, Balance has even spawned a series of graphic novels!

To the dismay of some fans, however, season 2 deviates from good old D&D. Griffin played DM once again in a chilling Monster of the Week campaign entitled Amnesty. Some fans of Balance  and D&D disliked the transition to the Powered By the Apocalypse game system. However, true fans of the family express great love and appreciation for this excellent work of collaborative storytelling!

Old Play, New Roles

Season 3 of The Adventure Zone rocks all sorts of boats with its freshly-released teaser trailer. To start, the boys are making a return to their original D&D format, sure to please many fans. Perhaps even more of an upset is the fact that season 3 sees Griffin taking on the role of a player. Correct! Middlest brother Travis assumes the role of DM in the third season of The Adventure Zone!

Be sure to tune in to The Adventure Zone later this week! Season 3 hits the air on Halloween, of all days!
